Jesus is spoken of beautifully in the Qur’an and a true Muslim reveres Jesus and is happy to talk about Isa al Masih (Arabic name for Jesus the Messiah). Jesus is given the highest titles in the Qur’an. No other prophet or person even comes close to receiving such honor as Jesus receives in the Qur’an. Below is a list of attributes about Jesus from the Qur’an. These are all entirely unique things spoken about no one else in the Qur’an.
Jesus (Isa) is the ONLY ONE:
• Who is called holy from before his birth (19:19)
• Who is a major prophet whose sins or asking for forgiveness are not mentioned
• Who was conceived through the Spirit of God (21:91, 66:12)
• Who was born of a virgin (19:20)
• Whose mother is named (5:114)
• Who was called by his mother’s name, son of Mary (5:114)
• Whose mother was chosen above all women (3:42)
• Who spoke from the cradle (5:110, 19:30)
• Who was a prophet from birth (19:30)
• Who is called blessed [mubaarak] (19:31)
• Who pronounces peace on himself (19:33)-all Muslims pronounce peace on others, but no one would pronounce peace on themselves
• Who creates (5:110, 3:49)
• Who heals (5:110, 3:49)
• Who gives life to the dead (3:49)
• Who brings forth the dead (5:110)
• Who allowed things previously forbidden (3:50)
• Who confirms a book (3:50)
• Who senses unbelief in people (3:52)
• Who has knowledge of and is a sign of the last day (43:61)
• Who is aided by the Holy Spirit (2:87)
• Who is raised by God to Himself (3:55, 4:158)
